Another set of 3 ATCs

Doesn't it seem I always do my ATC 3 by 3?
Here are my latest ones.

"L'Elegante" I created for the ClubScrap October 2006 Retreat. I was reading a cool technique about using painted Tyvek for backgrounds. I used Golden fluids acrylics (quinacridone crimson, pyrrole orange and iridescent gold) that I smeared with my fingers on wetted Tyvek. The beautiful lady is from art-e-zine wonderful bank of images. The background design is a ClubScrap stamp from the Paisley kit, and the medallion is paper clay colored with black PearlEx and gold paint.

"Bird of the East" is a very quick one. The main image is part of a ClubScrap stencil done with Adirondack inks. Then I masked the bird and the branch and stamped the background with the Asian characters. I added pieces of distressed Asian pages and a little charm.

For the "Orientalist", I painted the background with Twinkling H2O (I just got the new colors, I have to try them) and stamped some random words. The main image has been cut out from one of these free advertisement postcards. Some stars, Egyptian symbols (ClubScrap stencil) and a distressed stamp from my stash complete the picture.

3 ATCs

I don't remember who this stamp is from, but I titled it "the Dreamer". It is stamped with Staz-On grey on glossy cardstock and colored with Tombow markers.

"Little Prince" by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous (seems that some new ones are coming!!!).
Tombow, PearlEx (with Future floor polish) and Adirondack butterscotch stippled in for the background. I wanted to use the stamps for a baby card, but I found it definitely too sad for a joyous event :))

The main stamp here is from Acey-Deucy, but it all started with me playing with the Adirondack acrylic and Silk iridescent ink on the vine leaves. I try them on matte, glossy cardstock and glass for totally different results. (here's the matte version).

Technology is against me :)

Just got a brand new monitor at work. I'm very happy... except I can't see the sheep on my last ATC!!! The brightness/contrast combination renders my poor watermarked sheep invisible :(((

So if you don't see it either, tweak your display buttons a little and it will magically appear

Little boy blue too

Boy image and poem from the same Altered Book Club ATC kit than last month post
The sheep is watermarked and chalked, and there's just a tiny bit of Galaxy white to frame the atc

One dinar

A little bit more play with Nick Bantock stamps. I finished the double trilogy of Sabine and Griffin this weekend, and his collages are so inspiring... Anyway, following his suggestions in "Urgent 2nd class" I used an old torn 1 dinar bill for this ATC. I stamped the manuscript background (Hero Arts) in distress Tattered Rose, then the remaining in Vintage Photo. The edges are a mixed of Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot.
Can you tell I love Tim Holtz distress inks? :)

Red Spirit

I found a scrap of slick but non glossy paper. I had to try the alcohol inks on it! I used a couple of drops of Terra Cotta, Rust, Cranberry, Caramel, Ginger and Butterscotch, added a bit of pearl mixative on the craft sheet where some gold krylon marks remained, swirled the paper on it, blotched with a square of felt and let it dry.
I then stamped the Asian text (uptown designs) on the left with Adirondack Rust, and the figure and word from Stampin'Up with India ink. "Spirit" is mounted on foam and is edged with krylon red

Corte Placido

From a wine bottle to an ATC!
I liked the label (more than the wine :) so I decided to give it a second life
The central image and the "titles" have been transferred from the bottle to the ATC. The background is sponged with 7gypsies color washes in pastel-peach and walnut-purple, plus a bit of Vintage Photo distress ink.
Stamps from Ma Vinci (in Vintage Photo also) and German foil paper and charms from my stash. The edges got some Krylon red as well.
To me, the horse has the roundness of Ucello's paintings, and this brings back fond memories of Tuscany

I love the CS font for September!
Stamps by Catherine Moore (Character Constructions), Stamps by Judith, Clearsnap (inkum's)
Ink is StazOn Midnight blue.
Background colors and details: Sennelier iridescent oil pastels. The scan doesn't show how shimmery the ATC is :(

The face stamp has been colored with the Art-Kure watercolor brush. A bit disappointing, but I'm new with these, so maybe my technique will improve.
