Vanity

Double spread in one of my journals. The original picture was taken in Venice, during a Biennale in the Giardini.

The red photo has been immerged in water for 30 sec. then distressed with sand paper and a awl.
The blue photo has been brushed with a mix of bleach and water, then distressed also.
After that, I played with wax crayons, prismacolor pencils, foohy markers, and acrylic raw umber paint.

The sayings are stamped: "Vanity" (Ma Vinci font), "altered soul" and "inner vision" (PostModern Design), "Der Tod, der Tod" (various small alphabets) and hand written "Do you love yourself to death?" :)

I love the CS font for September!
Stamps by Catherine Moore (Character Constructions), Stamps by Judith, Clearsnap (inkum's)
Ink is StazOn Midnight blue.
Background colors and details: Sennelier iridescent oil pastels. The scan doesn't show how shimmery the ATC is :(
The face stamp has been colored with the Art-Kure watercolor brush. A bit disappointing, but I'm new with these, so maybe my technique will improve.
